UMBRA: final scenes and evaluation

These are two scenes I animated from the animation UMBRA. Unfortunately, I managed to animate only 16 seconds, which is less than I hoped for but I preferred quality over quantity.

The first scene was done frame after frame, so it took a lot of time even though it is only 6 seconds. I had to think how she would move while rotating herself and opening the door. It is only a silhouette, but I found out that animating a silhouette is even more difficult than a person which you can see. I did not have to do colours and shading, but her whole body became a big black blop and I needed to think really hard how would it look like.

For the second scene, I used a different technique, similar to the one I used for Haroun. In photoshop, I animated a cycle of her walking with the phone flickering, then a cycle of her doing the same but with the lamplight on. Then in after effects, I created the camera movement for the background and I placed her in the foreground and made her move up and down to simulate walking. I planned to do the end of the scene with her turning her head around suspecting someone following her but I had a lot of troubles doing that and not enough time so with the complicated shading I' ve got in that scene I only managed to sketch it.
